My 4 years of university life are ending. During this fulfilling time, I learned two lessons from these 4 years, so let me share them in this blog.

First, only I can “make” my life.
In my first summer vacation, I was confused and wasted precious time because nobody gave me any instruction about what I should do, which was unlike when I was in high school, and it became an unmemorable time. I really regret that, but at the same time, I realized that nothing will happen till I do something. So, after that, I decided to take action and challenged myself to study abroad and travel overseas on my own. Thanks to these challenges, I could meet wonderful people from many countries, and this became the reason why I can say university life was the best time ever.

From this experience, I realized the importance of making my own life from my own decisions.

Second, do not take internet information at face value.
I was struggling with job hunting because I believed some wrong information from the internet, like how job hunters should act, and I fell into a vicious cycle. However, my mother gave me advice – she said, “what do you think is your own answer?” After that, I could get out of the cycle, and finally I could get a conditional offer from the company I wanted to work for.

From this experience, I learned that internet information is not necessarily correct, even if it seems right.

From these experiences, I learned important lesson from my university life so I would like to make use of them in the future.

もうすぐ4年間の大学生活が終わりを迎える。
充実した4年間を通して得た２つの学びをこのブログのテーマとしたい。

一つ目は、自分の人生は自分で作るというである。
私には、大学生になって初めての夏休みを無駄にしてしまったという苦い経験がある。大学生は、高校生の頃と違い、何をするべきだという指示を誰かがしてくれるわけではない。私はこのギャップに戸惑い、自分が何をすればいいのか分からず、結局あまり記憶に残らない夏休みにしてしまった。私はこのことをとても後悔して、何か行動を起こしてみようと決心し、留学や海外一人旅に挑戦することにした。この経験を通して、世界中の素晴らしい人たちに出会い、とても充実した時間を過ごすことができた。この出会いのおかげで、私はこれまでで一番楽しい時間を大学生活で過ごせたと思っている。
この経験から、私は自分の選択によって自分の人生を作っていくことの大切さを学んだ。

二つ目は、ネット上の情報を信じすぎてはいけないということである。
私は、就職活動でとても苦労した。今振り返ると原因は色々あったように思うが、例えば、就活生はこうあるべきだ、というようなネット上の情報を信じすぎてしまい、その通りにしているのに上手くいかない、そしてまた別の誤った情報を信じてしまうという悪循環に陥ってしまったのが最大の原因だと考えている。その時は、母が「あなた自身が考える答えは何だと思う？」とアドバイスをくれたことでその悪循環から脱出し、最終的には希望していた企業に内定を貰うことができた。
この経験を通して、ネット上の情報は、例えそれが正しそうに見えたとしても、必ずしも正しいとは限らないということを学んだ。
