I participated in the European Fashion Culture Training from August 30th to September 3rd last year. I was nervous at first because this training was offered from a different department of the university and I did not know anyone, but it was fun to learn what I was interested in.
　The training was conducted online by connecting Japan and different cities in France. I visited museums in Paris, exhibitions of famous brands, perfume and embroidery factories. These tours came with explanation videos taken by a guide who lives in France. I was able to spend a fulfilling time online. Also, it was good to be able to see not only the main places but also the general scenery of the cities. For example, there were many small stores and fashionable cafes in the videos taken by the guide. I could feel the atmosphere of Europe which was different from Japan. The CHANEL exhibition was very interesting. I was impressed by their design drawings and atelier. Also, the process of making high-brand dresses was wonderful, and it was a great learning experience.
　This training normally takes place on site. However, participating in it online was a very good experience in my life. “Making perfume” was the most attractive part of the training because I could have made my own perfume if I was on site. I hope I can go to Europe someday and make it. Until then, I will do my best to study languages.

　私は、去年の8月30日から９月３日の５日間、ヨーロッパ服飾文化研修に参加しました。他学科の研修ということもあり、知り合いがおらず少し緊張しましたが自分の興味のある分野を学ぶことはとても楽しいなと感じました。
　研修は日本とフランス現地をオンラインで結ぶ形で行われました。全部で５日間の研修で、パリを中心とした美術館巡りや有名ブランドの展示会、香水作りや刺繍工場の見学をしました。これらの説明は、フランス在住のガイドの方に撮っていただいた動画とともに行われ、オンラインでありながらも充実した時間を過ごすことができました。また、主要な見学場所だけでなく、市街地の様子も観察できたことがよかったです。ガイドの方が実際に街中を歩きながら撮影してくれた動画には、小さな雑貨屋さんやおしゃれなカフェがいくつもあり、日本とは違うヨーロッパの雰囲気を感じることができました。私が一番興味深かったのは、シャネル展です。デザイナーが描いたデザイン画や、仕上げた洋服が残るアトリエは感動しました。また、私たちが憧れるハイブランドであるドレスが作られる過程やそれらが展示されているところはまさに圧巻で、とても勉強になりました。
　今回の研修は、コロナ禍ということで現地に行くことは叶いませんでした。しかし、そんな時だからこそオンラインツールを活用していつもと違った形で研修に参加できたことは、自分の人生の中でとても良い経験になったと感じています。研修の中でも最も魅力的だったのは「香水作り」です。もし現地に行ったら、オリジナルの香水を作ることができたそうです。いつか現地に行って自分の香水が作れることを願い、これからも語学の勉強に励みたいです。
